In July 2018 I spoke with Robyn Spice about an idea I had for a documentary film.
I had no idea how it would work - or if it would work!
I very quickly learnt something about Robyn.
When she likes an idea she immediately gets on with making it happen - there's no time to procrastinate or time to give any attention to any doubts or fears that are quietly taking root!
Robyn was off and running before I'd even had the time to lace up my trainers!
The speed in which the idea and planning stage moved into production was actually perfect - and terrifying in equal measures.
Maybe Robyn sensed some apprehension on my part; maybe she knew if she let me think about it for too long I'd get cold feet and back out.
It's the 30th October and today we have the penultimate day of filming. I know there's a long way to go before there's a finished product. Editing could take several months to complete - the soundtrack for the film has been started but it's another step that can't be rushed. Emily Cluley is our musical director/composer and producer on this film - to hear some of her music please click on her soundcloud link in the side bar.
27 houses is my story.
My hope is that the film will give me some insight into why I have felt the need to keep moving.
It's been at times painful, funny and thought-provoking. I have to give a massive thank you to Robyn for making the process as painless as possible! She coped well with my tears and snot, was reassuring, patient and calm.
She's a lovely young woman - professional and hilarious! Thanks Robyn for being your wonderful self throughout this whole process.
